I was able to put my camera to good use the past few weeks. The Pastor (who married us last year) finally finished his Doctorate of Divinity. I had the pleasure of going to the (long) ceremony. I felt a little pressure to capture the important moments of the day. I think they urned out pretty well! Congratulations to Doctor Reverend Dwight Nash. Awesome accomplishment.

Look at that program. It was like a book!

For the ceremony, the largest church I have ever been it.

Dwight's walk across the stage. I was on the right side of the stage initially, and when his portion of the ceremony started, we realized I needed to switch sides. I sprinted, and made it, so I could get his face and not back of the head.

Proud family.

Favorite picture of the day :)

On another note, one of my girls in my Youth Group, had her final singing concert of he year, and final Middle School concert. I cannot believe that she will be in High School next year. I had such difficulty getting clear pictures during the concert. The kids kept moving in and out of the lighting, and add in dancing movies, and I was challenged! She had a solo in this song... great job!!

AWANA

Wednesday evenings, I (Kristin) volunteer at my church. Our curriculum is AWANA [you can clink on the link for the webpage] - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. We have kids 3 years through middle school. I choose to work with the 3,4 and pre-kindergarden five-year-olds. We are called Cubbies, and we form great friendships with the kids! Last week, we passed out to our first year Cubbies their vests and bags and books - they were super excited to show their parents.

Our goal is to help children memorize bible verses, and to learn about God and The Bible. We sing songs, have a puppet (my portion!!!!), read stories, memorize bible verses, craft, and snack time. Lots of fun!

This week's memory verse is "God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1.

Heaven Is For Real

Heaven Is For Real, by Todd Burpo. This book will touch your life, as it has greatly blessed me. A true story about a boy who during a surgery entered heaven, met Jesus and other people, and learned of events his parents never mentioned. As the story develops, we learn about faith and trust in God, and Colton's unwavering belief in Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. Two of the reviewers at the beginning, I have personally met in the past.

This story may seem impossible and too remarkable to be true, but read it with an open mind. Ask questions after, and know that the family is open with their life experiences.
