Catching Up

This month is flying by. Our wedding is in 6.5 weeks. Woohoo!!!!!

When mom was down last, we walked around the wedding site. Here is a picture from the garden outside. Being able to take pictures that day made me realize that I will want to take pictures on my wedding day. However, my attention will be elsewhere, such as on Kelby and all our guests.

Kelby and I went to a friend's wedding over the weekend. As we waited for the ceremony to start, I took these pictures. I like the one on the right, with the two people looking at each other, and the piano player in the distance but still in focus, between them!

From the reception, comes the floating candles and flowers in water. And finally, the bride and groom, Calli and Zak Terry! Congratulations to both of you :)

Before the wedding, Kelby and I had time to spare, so we did a little sightseeing in Nacogdoches, TX, the oldest town in Texas. We went to a cemetery (is that weird going to a cemetery before a wedding?) with old graves. We both are facinated by history, so it was neat being able to read some of the old gravestones.

What is in the past?

I've been super interested in finding out my ancestors and to see how far back in time I can connect people. It started when I found a couple of old books at my Grandma's house, from 1853 and 1905. That was a few years ago, but with the show "Who Do You Think You Are?" and not working two jobs, I now have time for research!

Using the internet, and the free parts of Ancestry.com, I have found lots and lots of information and people. I can go back up to 14 generations in some lines of my family. There are geneology books written from the early 1900's that have the names of some of my ancestors. Cool!

My great-grandmother on my mom's side of the family owned a Bridal Shop. I was able to find her obituary, which held the name of the Bridal Shop and where in Italy my great-great-grandparents were from. From there, I found a picture from 1970, with her shop still standing (the one next to the Office Equipment store). I find all of this fascinating.

K and K

Yes, K&K can mean Kristin and Kelby, and yes, our wedding is 9 weeks away. Speaking of wedding, inviations are sent out, and lots of finalization of plans happening. But K and K can also mean.... Kristin and Kaylie!!! I absolutely love my camera and the pictures it is able to capture.

Texas Sunset

A Texas sunset. I saw the sunset from my car, and was able to get inside to grab my camera. These pictures were all taken from my front door. Pretty neat. The clouds don't even look real! I couldn't decide which one to put on the blog, so here are four of them. Oh, and it was one sunset. The first picture was taken the opposite direction of the sunset.
